Tangled in Blue

 The inhumanity of blue

Turquoise numbers contaminated my friend Mr. Goldberg's forearm
And humanity

Dad basked in the defiance of Malcom
Not Martin's azure tranquility
Ultimately dad's cut down
Cobalt steel from behind the blue wall

Today I'm tattooed
A number
"Call it if you're arrested."

blue wall

March

Past
Through
Over

For a boy eating candy, some of it

blue

Her blue song

Trade my blue smoked mountains
because you wanna surf?

Trade serving blue plate specials
for whatever I can get?

Trade my womb one more time
because you want a son?

Trade my value as a woman
because your life as a man
Hasn't begun?

Untangled from you,
I traded for him.
