Come Together Like Forever

The pitter-patter of feet lets me know you were once in love
You would fight for each other; feel passion for each other still burning your blood
Still, you are like two young, starving artists searching for the right brush
You argue over which gets the perfect one, bickering and your faces flushed

The words not yet come out, brushing against your lips like sandpaper when they do
I can never understand the way love shines through angst from you
Thinking to myself, that`s the kind of things I want in a marriage
When I recollect the little piece of your soul in that carriage

Though if I think too long, I feel like you two dance around forever
Like the waterfalls and rivers that somehow end up together
I can feel the fall, and relish in the calm
Never forgetting when the fighting stopped

Somehow the memories are still there
Lingering like a lost pet; helpless children of welfare
As if facades of storms that made use think twice about a tent
only stay to remind us of the love that came and went

Perhaps one day I'll fall in and out of love with him
Fighting and making passionate love on a whim
I`ll still remember all the times I sat and heard
I`ll never forget the times I held on to every word.
