The burning of Dresden
The planes cover the skies
like sinister birds of prey.
Then the bombs start to fall,
and they just keep falling.
Buildings light up like torches,
the city glowing in the night.
People run and scream
burning like living flames.
Dead and dying trampled upon
as the panicked masses flee.
Streets burn like rivers of fire
making escape impossible.
Hot winds of the firestorm
force people to burn inside.
Burnt corpses litter the streets
the living running to and fro.
Let us never forget that night,
the terrible crime not long ago.
like sinister birds of prey.
Then the bombs start to fall,
and they just keep falling.
Buildings light up like torches,
the city glowing in the night.
People run and scream
burning like living flames.
Dead and dying trampled upon
as the panicked masses flee.
Streets burn like rivers of fire
making escape impossible.
Hot winds of the firestorm
force people to burn inside.
Burnt corpses litter the streets
the living running to and fro.
Let us never forget that night,
the terrible crime not long ago.
