Image for the poem coarse goodbye

coarse goodbye

there are times
i can think of
nothing but you
though it's obvious
your love was
far from true

i can't kick you
out of my bed
for our lovemaking
was all made
in my head
(like you always in
the back of your mind)

so i shall rise
above spite
but in the heat of
the night
while entangled in
her amorous embrace
i hope (against hope)
your performance
is dead-weight
