This I Do Know
There’s not much I know about you,
we just met:
I don’t know how you like your coffee,
your favorite color or your favorite author,
I don’t know if you like to dance
or sing or walk in the rain.
This I do know:
when I place my ear
to your breast
soon the beating of my heart
aligns in perfect rhythm
with yours
