She Was Gone, Gone

My baby was downing a forty
and smoking the finest weed
said she needed to relax
wasn't enough to do our dance
Then she started to play pool
long hours until the bars were closed
lost good money to the woman
eyes seemed to sparkle in the heat of the battle
Then she decided she wanted even more income
started to dance at the erotic club
offers galore from strange men
now two places where she was unaccounted for
Next she insisted she needed to get her party on
the place made for us two became hang out central
if I was in law enforcement I would have a conflict of conscience
at the center of it all was my heart
One day getting off from work early
I saw a sight which stopped my pulse
this female that I called "my baby"
was my baby no more...
