Days of Salem and Bedlam

The wind blows in with clouds overhead
Over screams of the crowd no word is said
I stand there watching, more than I can take
I stand helpless as they’re lashed to the stake

Unbearable sadness still clutches my heart
After all these all alone in the dark
For all my strength, I have no power in me
To open the gates to my deepest needs

Where have they gone?
Their souls tossed into a void
What have they done?
Their bodies burned and boiled

Their trial was held, callous and unfair
Just to ease and clear the air
To point out a target, that was the aim
Then forever, souls consigned to flame

They were my group of pagan wives
For a stronger power they strived
I wish they were before me once more
For I would take them on the chamber floor

In those old days of Salem
Became a place of bedlam
Deliver justice that was unjust
Now their blood has turned to rust

Where have they gone?
Their souls tossed into a void
What have they done?
Their bodies burned and boiled
