my ex'wife's in hospice, 'last-legs',
flat on her back -
& now death is all aye think about-
sittin wit Pops...close watchin his poor
11 month slide
& now death is all aye think about-
since Tommy Johnson & them otherguys
from 'your band' died,
now death is all ithink about -
& since deargodmother Cioci Stella passed
now death is all ah think about -
since Leroy died (o,how silly I cried eye wept!)
death now is all ithink that eye think about -
since Dr.Iron[y]s croaked all doped, making
Elizabeth de'mise unto dis'appear,
death is all ithought about for a longlong time-
and, of course, before that dear Mother & thee others,
(otherMother Maefield...ex'lovers Ronnie & Connie....Lady Glenda, Mr.Mason, Danny Randall, Pyotr&Natasha, Gregory Albee etc)
jeez, who'd I 4get?..........jeez(part2), so thfuck what?
'They' die & die a million times a day(or more)......

Exactly what a poem about death should have... a ling list of life. That is what makes it poignant and relatable. Don't feel bad, you will get your chance again. Me too. If I were a bettin man, two things I'd bet on... more life followed closely by more death.
