Moon, Sun and Stars

- Moon, Sun and Stars -

My pale hair cascading in ripples down my back,
Flowing, reminds me of the light within my spirit…
But all around me I see darkness so utterly black.
I must have no fear, no victory to it must I permit!
There is no way, I am going to bow; I must rise…
Like the moon in the night sky I must have my hour.
When will the sun embrace me; I cannot disguise…
My love for him, which is possessed of such power!
My sun, my star, the sky above the seas of grasses,
Where there is no end, to the glory of nature’s fury.
Oh sun and stars; let us love free of all the masses,
Someplace just for us, free of fear and free of worry.
A place for a Queen like me to be with her beloved,
In a paradise of our own making, an empire for two.
My battles have been endless, full of fire and dread,
And I long for a time when the sky seemed so blue!

Do my eyes sparkle to you like the moon’s beauty?
Your love is my sun, and I am warmed by its’ heat.
So long have I been alone, despite much company,
Longing for my sun and stars, to my moonlight meet.
Mother and Queen am I, goddess even to some…
No mere Princess, no mere noble lady of the North!
I have fought my battles, and they are not yet done.
But we can fight together; so let us as one go forth!
To have you at my throne, to have you at my side,
Would that not be glory enough to write songs of?
When will the hour come, when to where I abide…
You come like a knight out of legends, to your love.
If no word exists, for the thinks that I would feel…
It is only because I would be in a state of paradise!
I do not know, if even a single thing, is truly real…
But love alone to me is so: earthly enough to realize.

My hair is as pale as the pearl of jeweled sword hilt,
But as soft to your touch as would be sprites’ kisses.
I cannot always be a warrior, and I have no guilt…
If, often, the way of the sword, my heart dismisses.
Be my sword if you must and I will be your comfort,
So that together we might forge a way to our desire!
We can build the world anew with our loving word,
After we set it ablaze with the heat of dragon’s fire.
For you, would I not bring fire and blood, to bear?
Just as for you, I would lay down my arms forever.
More precious than the flowers for which I do care,
Is the love for you that life and death shall not sever.
If all the vastness of the lands should perish away…
Leaving only moon, sun and stars in their glistening,
I would be your moon; you would be my bright day.
Let us love fiercely, whilst gods above are listening!
