as the words flow...

I have been gone far to long
as I have written down these words it had been months since i picked up a pen to craft a song of my own soul
and the ink flowed fresh from the small incision made within the page and the words flowed from my mind like blood from two slit wrists
as i covered the page with my life blood
I have been gone far to long
because the words stumbled upon brambled path through darkest of forests
within the woods of purgatory
in my head and could never quite find their way
to my heart so it could be pumped through my ventricles from left to right within my body flowing fresh to my hands crafting something i have cried out for
words to flow forth out of fresh slices made from large blades
swung with traumatic force
carving large swathes within my ego
only now unlike they were supposed to
like they were supposed on the phone last night talking to my ex muse
like they were supposed to at my friends eulogy
and now they burst forth
my heart screams in joyous ecstasy as it allowed to rampage
and in rage it yells at me
write you fool!

you've been wandering far to long!
i have been gone far to long but i have returned
to the warm embrace of pen and paper
of words budding as roses
and stanzas growing as babies within mothers womb
before being birthed from ball point exit
struggling to come out
but once it did
the words began to flow
and i have turned towards the sun again
pencil snug fit in between my ear and head
pen resting as swaddled baby in my pocket and notebook clasped firmly waiting to be tattooed
and for these tattoos to be read and transfered and shared
I have returned
