The Fireflies

He showed me the fireflies
Outside, in the garden
They flickered finely
Their bright sparks
Like dancing fire
On darkening
day, curtain
Floating
Softly on air
He said to me
“I will show to you
These lovely lights of
my hope in symbolic fire
Of all awesome needy want”
His strong commitment to fulfil
a promise he made ever long ago
to adhere to belief, unwavering quest
to bring the torch home, within his
family, all his domain, a kingdom
To rule within his spirit, a queen
I watched the fireflies flicker
Thanking him for his gifts
Cherishing the words
His mighty messages
His inspiring words
His prophecies
I feel small
Inadequate
Unworthy
But faith
Keeps me
Hopeful.
