The story of me and he – chapter: age gap

Remember the first day we met
I was but an impressionable teen
You were the mature adult
Yet we clicked, instant attraction
Some say its star signs, I say it was fate
That day when I slipped on ice
When you leapt to my side
Everyone stared, the rumours broke
Our love for each other was out in the open
A secret no more
‘But she is nothing but a child, a girl in a woman’s body ‘
So many against us, what could you do but leave
A decade later, we met again
No more taboos, but the girl was gone
In her place was a young vain woman, who could not see the love shining in your eyes
Spurned, ignored, you ran from her world to a safer faraway place
Time spun, she realised what she lost,
Reaching out, God was kind, hope beckoned, time forgave
One more chance she received, they met once again
But his heart was bound to the seeds he had sown
The girl was back but the man was gone
Committed to another, his soul belongs to a child of his loins
‘The son should not be blamed for the sins of the father ‘
A final parting, a realising of what could never be
An unfinished tale, that’s what it will be
It’s the story of me and him
