There’s a darkness in you
that pushes me away
that pulls me toward you
that must end the way all things
that cannot be must end

You float around on hot pink boots
your hair flying in the wind
my thoughts down below in that
same darkness we share
in that same shadowy dullness

that ties us together like bit and bridle
where we are both rider and ridden
first you, then me, then us,
then nothing...
