A TIME FOR EVERYTHING (or, IT'S TIMING, LOVE)
(With apologies to the writer of Ecclesiastes chapter 3 v 1-8.)
There is a time for everything and a season in the affairs of the sexes:
A time for abstinence and a time for gratification,
A time for joy and a time for tears,
A time to arouse and a time to come down from arousal,
A time to bare and a time to cover up,
A time to be alone and a time to be together,
A time to be attached and a time to be single,
A time to be celibate and a time to be sexually active,
A time to be explicit and a time to leave to the imagination,
A time to be horizontal and a time to be vertical,
A time to be private and a time to be public,
A time to come together and a time to separate,
A time to do it quickly and a time to do it slowly,
A time to enter and a time to withdraw,
A time to impregnate and a time to give birth,
A time to make advances and a time to draw back,
A time to make love and a time to refrain from lovemaking,
A time to play the field and a time to settle down,
A time to practice contraception and a time to procreate,
A time to save yourself for someone and a time to give yourself to someone.
A time to say No and a time to say Yes,
A time to touch and a time to keep hands to oneself.

Balance was what I was attempting to capture, as a poem potentially helpful to couples (and those not yet). This was thought up today after finding the Song of Songs quoted in my Bible reading notes Word For Today (part of a 2-day series theme Don't rush into this relationship) This quoted a modern translation of verse 7 of chapter 2: Don't excite love...until...you're ready." Solomon (who inspired my pen name) is also said to have written Ecclesiastes.

So well written, but for many, the timing tends to go askew.
