OLD MEMORIES OF YOU
Even the shortest days
Won’t pass by that quickly
Hanging, as if suspended
From silky spider’s threads
Of sticky steel
Old memories of you
Entangle themselves
In each days consciousness
Desire thick enough
To cause a headache
But I’ll deal with it
And attenuate
The pain I feel
Reducing the hurt
As best I can
Until I forget about you
Won’t pass by that quickly
Hanging, as if suspended
From silky spider’s threads
Of sticky steel
Old memories of you
Entangle themselves
In each days consciousness
Desire thick enough
To cause a headache
But I’ll deal with it
And attenuate
The pain I feel
Reducing the hurt
As best I can
Until I forget about you
