To Catch a Love
Be gentle with your hand
Let her come as she may
Put best foot forth and sell your brand
Tax her less and with her heart she’ll pay.
Utter promises with your lips
But lace them truth and you give them weight
And of your love let tongue to rip
What poetics sounds, you have cheated fate.
Such forward beauty lay ere your eyes
You gaze each sphere and sculpt it quick.
The treachery of a smile and the stamina of time
Hath sculpt thee quite but beauty lay wick.
Let loose the rhythm of the heart
And her myriad laborers that each tune play
And if your tune she hums a part
You have touched her breast and on her breast you lay.
