Peaceful Confinement

 Alone in peaceful solitude, and enjoying a life that’s drama-free; my days are filled with certainties, and the shadows keep me company.

Uneventful days that last for years, shedding tears that seem to comfort me; for every time I dry my eyes, my pride is strengthened mightily.

Past ordeals have made me feel like being safe is the only life for me; for risky interactions never brought much satisfaction.

Secretly wishing for a change of pace, but scared of unknown happenings; hiding feelings that could outshine the sun if I believed the things we see in dreams.

Longing to feel the seasons change, and be protected from any harmful threat; giving passion like there’s no tomorrow, with a heart full of love and no regrets.  

Not knowing who holds the key of life that will free me from my history; but hoping one traveling soul might yearn to learn the reasons for my security.
