Lost and Forgotten

small and puny
lost and forgotten
in a world  that is rotten
the sky darkened
by the rain of our sins
the ground flooded
by the tide of humanity
the wind is our greed, forever hungry
taking everything all around us
the mighty storm is our anger
demolishing our “safe haven”
nature is but a mirror of what we are
but we shall remain in the dark
without the light of insight
an ignorant species we are
to the atrocities of humanity
