Fortress Desire
So it's early morning and my need is fierce
sleep has restored my used reservoir
my powers of persuasion not fully awake
but if your empathy finds my nonverbal cues
in agreement with your disposition
then partake in such sweet embraces
unsheathe my favorite weapon
never used in anger although capable of might
before any recognition of duty is cognizant
savor the promise of virility and so primed
establish the mount
I am resigned for the count
mutual expression, excessive delight
by the dawn's early light
sleep has restored my used reservoir
my powers of persuasion not fully awake
but if your empathy finds my nonverbal cues
in agreement with your disposition
then partake in such sweet embraces
unsheathe my favorite weapon
never used in anger although capable of might
before any recognition of duty is cognizant
savor the promise of virility and so primed
establish the mount
I am resigned for the count
mutual expression, excessive delight
by the dawn's early light

Morning love - best thing ever. Like how he watches her cues to see if she's willing and ready.
Great wakeup poem, love.

I can only say thanks; maybe because of sleep deprivation I didn't recognize my own words here. :( Pretty sure it isn't plagiarism...

Glad you like it. I guess a sleepless night did produce something good. Still I would prefer not to be visited by moths looking like wallets again.

If "true patriotism" suggests I might have something in common with Jackson Browne, I am all for it!
Not sure of the "50 States of play" though! (smile)
Thanks for the unique comment!

John Legend works for me---he opened for Sade. That was the concert of all concerts for me!
