she calls me baby

she stepped out of a place that is unknown to me.
she told me a name, but I can’t remember.

she spoke words like freedom, peace. they were
unfamiliar concepts. she pulls a thing out of the
air. she calls it passion. she calls it indulgence.
in my experience, I have not discovered these,
so how can they exist?

she dreams unreal dreams.

she says, if we hunt in the darkness, we will uncover
truth, which is a bright beacon, and will vanquish the
blindness of night. but this notion reflects stupidity,
which I cannot abide.
so I beat her.

life has wailed on me. it has made me an angry man.
I was made to be alone.

If she needs to cry, she goes in another room.
I tell her to leave, but she will not.
she stays with me, when there is no moon.
and there are no stars.

she comforts me.

she calls me baby.
