My Apology, (For You)
My son, I owe you a big apology-
For not being there,"for you," and being the man that I should be-
Instead of doing better for you, I handed-down to you, what was handed-down to me-
And I never wanted this to come again-
And in the balance I stand found wanting-
Wounds wide-open, I stand here hurting-
And I didn't want this to come again-
Come again-
No I never wanted this curse to come again-
Although I ran to flee my fathers legacy,3000 miles wasn't far enough away to outrun the destiny that was calling me-
So I write this letter hoping for things to be better-
And extend unto you, "My Apology,"-
Hoping that you'll understand, that I never wanted it to, come again-
For not being there,"for you," and being the man that I should be-
Instead of doing better for you, I handed-down to you, what was handed-down to me-
And I never wanted this to come again-
And in the balance I stand found wanting-
Wounds wide-open, I stand here hurting-
And I didn't want this to come again-
Come again-
No I never wanted this curse to come again-
Although I ran to flee my fathers legacy,3000 miles wasn't far enough away to outrun the destiny that was calling me-
So I write this letter hoping for things to be better-
And extend unto you, "My Apology,"-
Hoping that you'll understand, that I never wanted it to, come again-
