Body Shots

Headless, faceless,
well-meaning
objectification
stares us down
from every balcony
of life.

No foundation
to stand upon
and no substantial
thoughts other than
to meet our
corporal needs.

To be off camera,
off stage,
out of touch,
unaccounted for,
unaccountable,
unnumbered,
unnamed,
unaware,
is to abdicate
our ability
to respond
in the moment
to the call
of life.

To give them
the body they want,
to be sexy,
to be alluring,
to be available,
is to be fuckable.

It says nothing
about being lovable.

It says nothing
about being honest,
real, integrative, assured,
conscientious, affable,
trustworthy,
or self-dignified.

There is no use
being condescending.

We are all
going to die
and be put
in the ground
and be forgotten
at some time
in the future.

It's naļve
to think otherwise
and that being able
to wag your ass
and turn a few heads
makes us spiritually
any more valuable
in the universe.

Our real value
is in our humanity.

Make the head shot.
Show your feet.
Make it
a from head-to-toe experience.

Everything you are is beautiful.
The ignorance and impotence
of others is not a measure
of your authenticity
as a person.

If someone does not get
a boner looking at you,
that is about them,
not about you.

If someone does not
get a wide on
taking in your appearance,
that is not your fault
nor your problem.

Most of those relationships
end up in divorce anyway.

Because, in the end,
it was the whole person
that counted.

Show yourself,
all of yourself,
everything,
not naked or nude
or over-divulging
but offering who you are,
as  a  person.

Maybe naked
is your best side.
Do it.
But, maybe fully-clothed
and smiling
and being happy
and enjoying life
as you are
is the best you
you could ever display.

Don't forget
that all of you
is important
in an intimate relationship.

And life, Friend,
is intimate.
This is as real
as it gets.
