Today I Smile

My life has taken quite a turn,
Happiness reins again,
The road of fire I traveled upon
Felt like my soul would burn.
What the fool I'd been.
Those terrible days are gone.

I feel the light;
I soak in the beauty;
I smile.
The sun-shines bright;
Flowers smell so fruity;
All worthwhile.

I'm happier than I have ever been,
Comfort and contentment I feel;
Thank You Lord for Your Mercy and grace!
Knowing myself from with-in
Helps all my wounds heal;
I finally found my place.

Life's what you make,
Life has choices,
Life means growing,
Now it's time to wake
And open your heart to sweet voices
Of the reality around you knowing.

Learning more; reaching goals;
Being free of the weight
You carried so, so long.
No longer falling down holes,
Stripping away all hate,
Humming the melody of a beautiful new song.
