Apocryphal Love

If I had deluded you
would it have been more preferable?

Would we carry forward
persevere
with the weight
of deception
hanging heavy upon our hearts..

apocryphal love
is fool's paradise
painted upon pages,
a selfish spewing of words
created to capture

something

that has never been there.

How far can you're delusions carry you?

Would you have  contentedly stumbled
in the arms of that which did not
want you?

I'd kiss your soul,
buzzing saccharine deceit..

only to cast you out
as though you never mattered.

(But you did matter)

Enough for me to compose

Enough for me to fall into
the depths of your murky puddles

Enough for me to deceive myself...

into believing
it was all fictitious.
