Do You Know These Guys?

Now let me tell you about my three brothers
related by interests
not by parentage and blood

Soulful, intelligent, intense
the written word is one part of their worlds
for music they do appreciate and play
students of the world
put away the Dos Equis

The first I encountered quickly
down the road of poem production
so astutely noticed musical references
the language of love pulses through his pen

The second I call my brother of nature
breaks it down to elemental parts
diverse constructions his forte
acrostic-tanka and haiku in full effect

Last but not the least is the man of conscience
privy to the deeds of humans
anything but conventional
forces me to smash the box
and examine abstracts

So here is my offering of peace
gratitude for influences poetically found
brothers keep on

Writing
Playing
Examining
and above all

Loving
