Bambi and Her creatures hide in my backyard

Drifting along banks

on tips of baccano

where cues flared

signaling the end

meant over there

not middle of somewhere.

chemical lawns

gleaming freedom

littered with west Virginia

tumbleweeds spill

with their wind

on downhill slide

bringing holiday stay

to a forest camp

birds scream

and a squirrel sighs

looking around to find

where the deer hide

they know best

bedding down near

the streams

where land is cut  a slice

of the American dream

forking the hills and valley

betwixt long gone fields

plush Groves  shiver

dangling on the edge of tine

a stones throw near the river

down below Glen, yeah

you know him

he's the one putting oil

on the last dirt road

helping keep the dust down

construction trucks

hauling in dirt, taking

leavings of trees

if acres are just...

only a couple hundred

years old, their bulldozed to sleep

log out money and fillet the rest

build another community

quarter acre spots

feed me your din

help the people buy

chemical dawn for each

and everyone, enjoying holiday

as I look uphill and see the storm

bringing rains to wash

down
