Back Into The Jungle
My nerves are tender
Anxiety intrudes my peace of mind
Jumping back into the jungle
Serenity, I cannot find
Slithering snakes with mixed agendas
Ferocious tigers face to face
Forest dense, can’t find my way
I’m isolated in this place
I try to seize the racing thoughts
As they penetrate my brain
Escape is futile, waste of time
This jungle’s driving me insane
Unsheathing my machete
Slicing through the tiger’s head
Splitting shady snakes in half
Without my weapons, I’d be dead
Cutting through the heavy trees
Exposing sunlight with an open heart
I can’t escape this wicked world
While fighting to not fall apart

Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games. Haha sorry this piece just reminded me of that song. It is a process hard to escape from when temptation is everywhere and it's as simple as a phone call. The snakes and tigers are cool representations of people associated with drugs, I really like the way you use machete as way of describing how you basically have to cut ties with it all. Nice piece Gemini, I missed your writing.

Hey there, Sixxx! Thanks for noticing the machete metaphor. Even I didn't notice it. I just used it because it works in a jungle. I suppose it fits nicely though. :) Nice to know you missed my writing. That warms my poetic heart. :)

Thank you, Michael. Constructive feedback such as yours always helps. I try not to repeat words but in this case I think the double use of Jungle works. I tried to tweak it but couldn't find a way that sat well. I'm open to suggestions though. Yes, many styles are good and I will continue experimenting with them.
