Quiet Moments

I'm made up when the house is not so empty or quiet
A time to hold and pass on our body warmth on a winters
eve as we snuggle down into the duvet as we become, Ourselves
entwined, As we talk in soft tones before sleep takes hold.

On those summer nights when just a sheet separates us
as we lay side by side with my hand safely sleeping within yours.

The cooling air from the fan above with it's silent revolutions
the only other thing silently working for us.

To the stealthily practised movements and slow heartfelt
touches as we try not to wake the house from it's slumbering.

Remembering our cries and shouts outs echoing off the walls
From those special moments when being quiet isn't required.

But it's the talking and cuddles, The i love you's without the
physical accompaniment that make it real and complete.
