ADRIFT UPON THIS SEA OF NIGHT (longer revision # 2) (12-4-01, 5:30am, Galveston Island, Texas)
adrift upon
this
sea of night
where conscious
thoughts
let go
some still
of mind
unlocks from time
some softer
wisdom known
some key
unseen
some thing
unsaid
no words
to find
some jewel withheld
some deeper
truth
within unfound
whose quickened seed
now stirs aglow
beyond
all those
weve sown
thus far
which failed
before
their hopeful fruit
had fully formed
yet when
it had
from time
to time
in time
too oft
it seemed
to only die
from impotence
of human apathy
and greed
upon its yielding
stagnant root
fruitless branch
or vine
only exacerbating
this further distance
weve created
here ourselves
within
this distance
of ever increasing
disconnection
of conscious
separation
from nature
ever increasingly
further
away from
the greater truth
of who we
really are
beyond
this grievous failure
of who
collectively
as a species
as stewards
of our
living planet
weve sadly now
become
so tragically
lost
here in this
toxic distance
which we
now are
long journey
nearly done
and yet
its path
goes
on and on
in all these
fleeting
brief eternities
forever
another life
another form
another time
another world
another earth
another sun
another waking
yet to come
through sunken
dreams recalled
adrift upon
this
sea of night
where i continue
to wonder on
within its
boundless realms
alone
where now
here tonight again
just as
i do
and always
have
through
some strange
twist of fate
it seems
throughout
my conscious life
as well
as here
tonight
at this
increasingly
narrowing point
of my long
mysterious journey
ive surrendered
and accepted
more fully
to more deeply
and passionately
embrace
celebrate
dance and live
with wonder
joy and gratitude
the even greater
wondrous mystery
of this worlds
as well my lifes
intimately
reflective journeys
inseperable
sacred
oneness
with
all
