Thyatira
My heart wants love on a summer night,
lightnings splashing the sky.
An ax and some roots is how deep my wish goes
but the rest is nailed to walls.
They pinned my hands and feet,
their mouths gaped and they cast lots for my second skin.
Make me warm for no reason,
dope sick of love
cured by hope.
The future was bright then thunder rolled,
now all things are back to the same.
Aggravated love songs, warm with anger,
make me the man I am at night.
Teeth cut skin, leather bound, reading like its casual.
Hoping I don't somehow slip and end up in Thyatira.
She's everywhere.
maybe heaven won't make me happy
lightnings splashing the sky.
An ax and some roots is how deep my wish goes
but the rest is nailed to walls.
They pinned my hands and feet,
their mouths gaped and they cast lots for my second skin.
Make me warm for no reason,
dope sick of love
cured by hope.
The future was bright then thunder rolled,
now all things are back to the same.
Aggravated love songs, warm with anger,
make me the man I am at night.
Teeth cut skin, leather bound, reading like its casual.
Hoping I don't somehow slip and end up in Thyatira.
She's everywhere.
maybe heaven won't make me happy
