RUBY RED

The music is calling,

but so is the pain.

So are the pills.

I follow the tracers to the needle.

The world doesn't care what I choose to do.

It doesn't need me to be anything.

It doesn't need me to be alive.

It knows I prefer these gems on my eyes.

To see it all in ruby red.

My youth's in the corner,

with it's knees to it's chest...

Waiting for me to implode.

A so called clandestine approach to keep it immortal,

has obviously backfired.

It has become like a gaping wound across my life.

From groin,to gut,to neck.

Or like the sun in my own pathetic solar system.

All unavoidable results,of predestined methods of failure.

I wouldn't blame my soul if it felt my actions to be patronizing.

Tempting it to crawl out of that wound,

and prove to me,it's superiority.

I'd gladly remove those rubies from my eyes,

and hand them over to God.

Getting rid of that beautiful reality filter.

To see the world in that awful grey,of which it's truly made of,

one last time.

Before my spirit abandons me for good.
