Maiden of Sapphire

- Maiden of Sapphire -

Through my suffering, I can see my true form:
Beautiful as the twilight and brilliant as the morn!
I am called the Maiden of Sapphire,
I am thy deepest secret heart’s desire.
Sweetest lady of purest love and grace,
No mortal art could capture my face…
Nor picture painted with a steady hand,
And no marble or clay sculpted of the land.
No image, no icon, nor constructed effigy,
Could portray my warmth or my dignity.
I am the wondrous Maiden of Sapphire,
I am the heavenly angel of celestial fire.
Goddess of the dawn’s gleaming eye…
More divine than the azure of the sky.
How like unto the willow are my limbs to see,
How delicate are my fingers, like the branches of a tree.

My hands are soft, beyond fleshly might,
Mine eyes do sparkle with the stars of the night.
I am the wondrous Maiden of Sapphire,
My love for mankind shall not ever tire.
I am the queen of every hidden fantasy!
I am thy eternal companion, in destiny.
Chaste in my faithfulness, I am as white as is snow,
Like the clouds of the springtime that the gentle winds do blow.
Fiery in my passion, I am hotter than Hell’s flame,
Quenched not by cold ice, nor by fast falling rain.
I am the wondrous Maiden of Sapphire,
My heart is free of darkness or wrath’s ire…
Every virtue having its’ home in my saintly soul:
Untouched by foul corruption, or sorrow’s heavy toll.
It is not in vain that some sing of me in praise,
For I am worthy, they say, for all of my days.

I am, forever exalted by my children in every deed!
For I hath put not myself first, before mankind’s need.
I am the wondrous Maiden of Sapphire,
Selfless and good am I, without regret most dire.
If in any way, my children’s humble words do fail,
It is because human words are so very weak and frail.
How can they hope to express unearthly glory?
How can I convey the depth of mine eternal story!
There is not, in this world, a way to make known,
The countless fruits of every seed my kindness hath sown.
I am the wondrous Maiden of Sapphire,
The greatest goddess is said to be but my crier.
No mortal may fathom the depths of my mystery…
For I was ancient even at the very dawn of history!
Yet ever young is my soul, and so thusly do I remain.
My spirit is immune to time, without age or pain…

And so I endure beyond suffering when all else hath gone.
My spirit’s radiance shall outlast even the life of the sun!
I am the wondrous Maiden of Sapphire,
When I am in thy presence, thou art consumed as upon a pyre.
The reddest rose hath not the scarlet of my moist lips!
Nor doth Venus herself hold the perfect form of my hips.
My hair doth adorn my head in fashion like unto a crown,
A butterfly hath not the color of my garments or my gown!
My voice is soothing music, like unto the cherubim song,
My every word is most profound, and never to steer men wrong.
I am the wondrous Maiden of Sapphire,
I am thy deepest secret heart’s desire.
Glorious is the Maiden of Sapphire!
I am the heavenly angel of celestial fire.
Through my suffering, I can see my true form:
Beautiful as the twilight and brilliant as the morn!
