Any cat or mother
Happiness isn't an emotion that can be given or forced;
You can make someone feel
depression or insane, anger or
pride or patriotism or
apathy or nostalgia; even fury and angst,
jealousy, lust, despair, sorrow,
contempt, sadness, lost, forgotten,
remembered, paranoid,
untraceable, unloveable,
sometimes even loveable.
These feelings can even be forced
all at the same time.
But peeling back the skin,
You find that any cat
or mother could tell you
happiness can't be replicated
and passed on.
Happiness is the only thing
that truly comes from inside
of you.

I'm trying to understand elements of this Will lou White, and just why happiness is the only emotion that can't be passed on or replicated; versus depression or "insanity" or consequently anger. Many psychological disorders are physiologically predetermined through heredity (or prenatal care) so in turn passed from mother to child ... It grows from within ... so again why is happiness the only thing that comes from inside?
Personally, I embrace everything from within ... The anger, the lust the passion; and by and large no one can dictate what I remember and what I've forgotten and why?

I see what you mean Lobode but I meant it as like, you could force someone to be angry and paranoid, but happiness isn't something that's forced. It's an emotion that has to have the right conditions to flourish.

Happiness is such a treasure. This is such an interesting poem. Of all the feelings that come our way, it seems the negative emotions are easier to come by than happiness which is generally the most sought after feeling. Very nice write.
