let's start with red
a horror movie
would be nothing without it
and those are my favorite
that's why it's my favorite too.
orange
is a poet's nightmare
because it can't
rhyme.
yellow is easy
that's hello.
green
is for
weed
as if you didn't see
that one coming.
blue
is a poet's wet dream
because we all
are.
purple is for
the long sleeve shirt i put on
because something is wrong with the spring heat
and it's too cold in my apartment.
pink
is
for
vaginas
yay!
brown
is
for
assholes
yeah!
white
is for
crackers
black
is for
...
olives
and gray
is for
everything
in between
so in all actuality
it makes
just a plain awful
ending.

Yes it can--orange. If one really wants to do with it what one does with other words, like, simply rhyming the last syllable, it could rhyme with fringe, binge, syringe, tinge, hinge, etc. Well, that's not necessarily perfect rhyming, but it has been done, yes? Personally, if one is talking about rhyme, while I'm not particularly partial to rhyme, I like it when the stressed syllables of the words in question rhyme, no matter where they are in each word. That's rhyming, to me. Orange, core, for, four, floor, flora, lore, more, nor, gore, etc. Otherwise, why would a word like, say, freeze, rhyme with a word like, disease? The stressed syllables rhyme, so we say the words rhyme.
Ok, that was a minute part of a much larger thing, and really quite beside the point. This is interesting. I once wrote a poem, or several evolutions of one, that associated thoughts and things with numbers. Different numbers have had different meanings to me. Looking back on them, they weren't all that great. This piece is much better. It takes the reader on a deeper, more thorough trip through the connections.
