Writing you Away

the outline I start
filling in as the words
flow easily over paper
ideas for chapters
memories for the story
going through a list
of people and places
but it always
stops me in the
same place each time
I come to the memory of you
and I don’t know how
my heart or pen
can write past you
but I try
hoping this time
I can write
straight through
