reason to smile

the sun is high hot and bright
something about the sun
breathes life back into me
depression overruns my day
makeing everything seem bleak
i try to shake this urge to sing
but i cant bear the weight of everything
i feel so sticky heated and cooked
but the sun makes me smile
as wind moves through the trees
i remember how much i used to love this heat
this rebirth for me as the season changes
i feel the whole earth breathe sighs of relief
as the earths spirit speaks to me
as i am all part earth religion
in this weather i too could be a sun worshiper
and all hale ra  bowing at gods bright crown glory be
i am ever in awe amazement and reverence
thanks for this heat so i can smile again
so i can play again so i may retreat to shade
to sheild me for a moment from this heat
so i smile and giggle
in the lush green grass my toes i wiggle
i am greatful for this beautiful day
and for this reason to smile
