Cumberland call

Today,

I thought of our train ride

You in Your parka, I in my smile

rings around a mountain

smoke into sky, wafting

mini trips square upon the tongue

like days when we mat under the sun

an all glass car, dining among hillsides

tops of the trees, tunnels sneaking

kisses as diners peer sight see

do You recall conductors call

held the ticket we smiled in thrall

hugging close each other's security

blanket, held life chugging along

You said...

I love You, a cloud on my tongue

like cotton candy marshmallow

Us as in one, a passenger breathes

we cast shadow on the mountain

moving in light, forever glistening

while the train rolls, on and on
