Dancing in the Moonlight

fire burns deep in his eyes
without thought he licks his lips
deep inside his desire cries
he longs to feel her kiss

a fleeting glance making quick eye contact
just to see how she might react
a smirk grazes across his mouth
theres really not much doubt

what do you want to watch on tv?
as he shoots another glance her way
we could watch another movie if you like
as he catches her line of sight

a smile ignites her face
his aura has invaded her space
innocently she looks away
quickly her eyes are drawn back his way

their eyes meet and he stares into her soul
without a spoken word she knows
the silence of the moment screams of his intent
she is soulfully connected to him

lets take a walk outside and look at the moon.
its too stuffy upstairs in our room
as he motions to takes her hand
he stares through her as she starts to stand

he never takes his eyes away from hers
he can feel her soul start to stir
her eyes are captured in his stare
within the room their souls stripped bare

the creak of the front door screams an alarm
a quiet pause and they see theres no harm
the smaller souls still slumber in bed
asleep with the dreams that dance in their heads
across the porch and down the front steps
into the grass where the moonlight rests
bathed in the light of the brightly lit moon
her hand in his their auras in tune

he glances and sees a fire in her eyes
dimming the glow of the brilliant moonlight
as they walk through the grass the dew on their toes
this moment in time they so perfectly chose

a curious observer the moon rests in the sky
slowly absorbing them into the night
casting their shadows across the dark lawn
consuming the figures until all traces are gone

do you think anyone can see us right here?
his intention couldn't be more clear
he falls to knees and looks to her eyes
velvet fingers tickle her thighs

time slows to a crawl as he unbuttons her jeans
slowly removing all of her bindings
she kneels to the ground to meet with her lover
removing his clothes and embracing each other

a blush slowly creeps across the face of the moon
two bodies silhouetted dancing in tune
wet from the ground and the glistening dew
lying on the grass two lovers consumed

in rhythm they spoke without saying word
the beat of their hearts is all that they heard
asleep on the grass under the night
awash in the glow of brilliant moonlight
