Sipping From Rainbows

My mind is a blank page
like an eraser has
vanquished my thoughts
leaving behind dirty smudges
where the words used to be

I think a trickster
is at play
stealing the words
my lips wish to utter
sealing them before
they can tumble from my tounge

embracing my muse
making love to her
she has been ill used
i've pursued her as she alludes me
she is the trickster

the one who put blinders
on my mind
she tells me I need to love again
knowing i've been lonely
she feeds me the ink
I need to be free

always there when I need her most
she speaks words of wisdom in my ear
tells me it's time I seek inspiration
sipping from rainbows
leaving behind the dank abyss
