Apathy Loves Being Numb

Isn't it time we got angry
lent our voices to a cause
start with any
the action is what is important

Been too long; we put
mortals up on pedestals
expecting them to solve all of OUR problems

No help has it's place
for think of a generation
couched in the slight offerings
of business rather then FDR's boldness

But if you look at the current crop of lawmakers
especially your boards of education and city councils
the government that is suppose to be the nearest to the people
can slash, cut, end, and eliminate programs so dispassionately

Paradigm shift before we go over the cliff
hope it is not to late sons and daughters won't wait
already disgusted with political schemes
will the sacrifice be their dreams

Don't wait for that human messiah
for in the end he/she will fall
you don't need reminding do ya
an assassin lurks behind us all

Now they don't even need bullets
just make up stories
say them enough and everyone believes

How many times most we bash our heads against the wall
true change doesn't originate from the top
but rather springs forth from the bottom

The irony is it is the bottom
that worries "them" the most
those who materially have the least
have a collective hunger
that will "shake your windows and rattle your walls"

Those with the least have an intensity to action
that will trump anything
in the relatively more comfortable existence
of the latte scene

So when you hear "that is just the way it is,
some things'll never change
that's just the it is"
I will go on saying, "ha, but don't you believe them"
