I Am The Average

I am the average.
The middle,
The in-between.

Not the youngest,
Or the oldest.
Not the smartest,
Or the prettiest,
But not the dumbest,
Or completely unfuckable.

I'm not the best friend,
I'm not the enemy.
I am a mere acquaintance.

I'm half full and half empty,
Whatever my peers want me to be.
The listener,
Though not the best.
The shoulder to cry on,
But only for a while.
The plus one,
That doesn't come again.

I'm not the best,
Nor the worst.
I'm not broken,
Or together.

I am the average.
