I won't give in.
It's the puddle on my pillow,
The sting in my dull eyes.
I hold in the anger, I hold in the pain.
Slip on the mask,
Used so many years.
Held back tears manage to drip,
As the numbness spreads.
I want to be invincible,
To stand and protect you.
Shadows make their way,
The need to hide overwhelming.
Fighting this strung out battle too long.
Smile at my Ma,
And wait until I'm alone.
Strong when I'm needed; Required.
Weeping in a sorrow pile when heads turn.
A cycle that twists and weaves,
Begging me to break.
Gaze on the passing clouds.
I won't stop now,
I won't give in.
Traveled on this unending road;
I stand tall and steady,
Ready for the next blows.
I won't give in,
I won't be broken.
The sting in my dull eyes.
I hold in the anger, I hold in the pain.
Slip on the mask,
Used so many years.
Held back tears manage to drip,
As the numbness spreads.
I want to be invincible,
To stand and protect you.
Shadows make their way,
The need to hide overwhelming.
Fighting this strung out battle too long.
Smile at my Ma,
And wait until I'm alone.
Strong when I'm needed; Required.
Weeping in a sorrow pile when heads turn.
A cycle that twists and weaves,
Begging me to break.
Gaze on the passing clouds.
I won't stop now,
I won't give in.
Traveled on this unending road;
I stand tall and steady,
Ready for the next blows.
I won't give in,
I won't be broken.
