Let Go
As the flood lights washed my skin out
You stayed hidden quietly away
Watching them gun me down
Gazing, amused, at my blood spray
With a sick grin upon your face
You drew her near and moaned
Thinking I'd never find your sin
But it still aches me to the bone
Your tongue is like a serpent
Slick, sly, and sickening
I trusted you, caught up in your eyes
With their deep blue glistening
If I could gather every drop of blood
Or tear I've shed for you
I could bathe in our contrition
And be absorbed by stains soaked through
Verbal hammers raised
You delivered each fatal blow
You've torn my arms from their sockets
Because I couldn't let you go
You stayed hidden quietly away
Watching them gun me down
Gazing, amused, at my blood spray
With a sick grin upon your face
You drew her near and moaned
Thinking I'd never find your sin
But it still aches me to the bone
Your tongue is like a serpent
Slick, sly, and sickening
I trusted you, caught up in your eyes
With their deep blue glistening
If I could gather every drop of blood
Or tear I've shed for you
I could bathe in our contrition
And be absorbed by stains soaked through
Verbal hammers raised
You delivered each fatal blow
You've torn my arms from their sockets
Because I couldn't let you go
