Scars She Bares
Standing transfixed, on the cold white porcelain tiles, she stares into what has become her enemy, her face bares the scar, ear to chin, which she tries to cover, letting the chocolate waves cascade across the left side, hiding the dark past, she tries desperately to forget. The angry uneven line, like a scarlet letter, always reminding, of the fear and pain suffered at the hands of her abusive ex-husband. Slowly time passes, the scar knowingly will fade, she questions if the scarring of the heart ever will.
