AN OPEN SILENCE

sustained effect
of early mornings
serotonin sun
wore off
this day
as it
went down
and lingered on
into the night
under reflected light
of passing
qualude moon
unseen above
my rooftop
yet felt infused
in dreams
i cant recall
just now
half awake here
in this hour
four forty four
a m
aware of equilibrium
an open silence
in my head
eyes closed
listening
for words
to filter in
between the solvent
perimeter of
refrigerators hum
and slow tick
of plastic clock
incessant on
nights wall
outside
nights winds
whip tree tops
into restless dance
as porch chimes
sing
in haunting tones
a sudden
night rain falls
as pen
in hand
guides down
these words
like clouds
lured in
from empty skies
words and clouds
the distillation
 of passing dreams
exchanged between
this mysterious
synergy
of sleeping earth
and i
still half awake
here in this
hour
four forty four
a m
now gone
that equilibrium
beyond this
open silence
in my head
eyes closed
ever listening
for yet more
words
to filter in
like captured
fractured dreams
they come
arisen from beyond
to partially
fill
its silent void
before
first lights
peaceful breach
of waking
newborn
dawn
