Shadow

Beneath the shadows of thy wings my heart yearns for peace
My shadow looms over me like moonlight across calm waters
My shadow has deserted me and left me empty and hollow
My shadow never gave me warning of it's pending betrayal
it just left me like a cloud of dust on the horizon
My shadow I cry to why now, why desert me now
with each life breath I have sought an escape from you
I long to fly weightless to exist in pure mind
to secure distinctness to achieve my eternity
Is now the time I alas succeed just when I needed
you most, I would have never wished for you to leave
had I known it would hurt this bad
Never did I realize just how much my shadow I did need
Now I am transparent you can hold me to the sunlight
for close examination
My shadow it is hate, it is fear on fear and hate it dose feed
My shadow dose exist because I want it to
I can choose to dispel it or let it keep following me
