My breathing becomes shallow
Some days all too frequent.
I want to take deep breaths and....... fly
to places without cages or walls.
My life feels at times as guilty as charged
as I sit crouched behind imaginary bars
of my own choosing.

You were supposed to be by my side.
You were even meant to fight for me.
I feel I'm losing in a war I didn't want to
start.
My banners you held with pride......for all to see,
Now become  h-e-a-v-y   to your uncaring touch
Unfurl them like you used to    

See the colours

that still shine out my love ......for you.
 
I dreamed often of breaking out before
being chased down and dragged back,
My escaping desire increased with every
tear that fell ......unnoticed by you.
Unclip my wings, I beg and let me fly
See how I would fly high just for you.....

I feel owned, a pawn in your own game
with small movements under your checking
gaze.
I feel trapped in your fuck affair that was.
Did you not see me jump off and join love's
rollercoaster?
You SO should have been there on the ups
and downs.  

To laugh and scream alongside
me...... Not at me..
I built palaces within my mind just for us
