Games Without Frontiers

I feel it all too often.
That age thing creeping along.
Not the girl i once was.
Takes me longer to get motivated.
Gray strands and age lines say hello.

I hope you realise.
As the tannoy speaks
"Mind the gap"

It may conquor everything.
Have you the fight.
I've seen it in you.
Somethings are too big to conceal.

I say lets fill in that gap with hope.
Make a bridge.
Afterall it can't get any bigger.
Bridge that gap with love.
Thats where you will find me.

As the days run past
And months stroll on.
The years will drag their heals.

Big steps
Small steps
Walk
Run
Crawl
The direction remains the same.

Time ticks by
Exciting
Uneventful
Wishful
Painful

Right or wrong
Cocktails laced with guilt.
We care not to drink.
We read the signs.
The code of the road.
Driving us on.

As the waiting room fills.
People come and go.
As we sit and read.
Old news
Ageing headlines.

Awaiting the call.
Our names to be called out.
Like games to be played.
Being picked.
To be on the same side.

Win or lose
It's the taking part that counts.
Words for those that don't believe

Play to win
Or die trying.

Mind the gap.
