I have to do this
- it's cruel, I know.
but some things are offered
so unknowingly that they must
not go untouched.
Unfortunately, some times,
these things sleep
on your doorstep.
-speaking in genetical
terms, of course- 

Let us run our fingertips
around the rim
of this moral glass
for a moment...

At what age do you think
it is acceptable to bring
two children in to this world?
What number of years
should they be apart?
The answer, according to certain
remote genius is: nineteen years
and nine months apart.

So, I let that one slip
until a certain mother phones me
about an hour ago;
the burning headline
is as follows:

'Girl of nineteen,
bearer of two children
leaves her partner
for his boss.'

Come on!
You're laughing
in a spit your drink
out in a humorous mist
kind of way.

Why are you laughing?
Because, other than being
one of those two children
or the unfortunate father,
it is your duty.
So laugh it up,
I salute you.

Not to laugh
is a bad idea;
these 'people' need to know
they are part of an ecosystem
destroying crude joke.
