POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I'm inexperienced and looking for honest feedback on my poems.
Carnage of War
Puddles of blood
Soaking into the ground,
The one survivor
Never to be found.
Taken by the enemy,
No hope left to spare,
Mercilessly cut
Into despair.
Comrades all gone
And the regiment beaten,
The sole survivor still unbeaten.
At least in his heart
He will not give up
Till the day he is rescued.
Soaking into the ground,
The one survivor
Never to be found.
Taken by the enemy,
No hope left to spare,
Mercilessly cut
Into despair.
Comrades all gone
And the regiment beaten,
The sole survivor still unbeaten.
At least in his heart
He will not give up
Till the day he is rescued.

The Dark Sky
I am the obscurity dancing across the dark sky,
As the people passed by.
Asleep the children went,
Crying in their beds.
As the people went into the light outside,
Sadness took flight.
The smell of pungency took the air,
Still as a statue since I’m still here.
These thoughts were darkness,
As they spread around so quick.
These thoughts were rolling around,
As the clouds fell down.
For many people, grief tore them apart,
And felt like chunks of their bodies torn out.
“Sniff, sniff” went the town,
As the people fell down.

Long for friendship
I am a lonely figure on the shadowy hill,
My back to the sun,
My face hidden by a cowl.
I look to my sides
And see others playing on mountains,
Not even glancing at my hill.
But that’s all right
Because I don’t need people
To spot out my hill immediately.
If people glance at it at one point,
Or don’t even look down,
I’ll be all right.
Loneliness is a killer,
But I can withstand it.
As people see my hill
And help me grow,
I’ll be all right.
My back to the sun,
My face hidden by a cowl.
I look to my sides
And see others playing on mountains,
Not even glancing at my hill.
But that’s all right

And help me grow,
I’ll be all right.
